Do You Want to Be Happy or Right?
I had someone tell me years ago, “do you want to be happy or right?” Pretty good question I think, because we all want to be happy and we usually want to be right. Right? Think about the last argument you had, did you win? Did you prove you were right at the expense of the other person? You may have...“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. We ask you, brothers, to respect those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves. And we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all. See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone.”1 Thessalonians 5Think about the words you most regret saying. What prompted them? Chances are, they were rooted in a desire to be right. You might even be honest enough to say you wanted to win the argument. But have you ever considered that it’s possible to right someone else right out of your life? There is a difference, I think, from being right AT one another than being right WITH on another. God wants the latter. How do we know this? Jesus was killed on a cross for a crime he didn’t commit. He didn’t correct the false accusations. He didn’t insist on his being right. Jesus didn’t come to be right. He came to reconcile us to God and to one another.Have a great weekend. Be Nice, Grace Wins

Some Things Are Better Left Unspoken
So yesterday, I was sitting in a waiting room listening to all sorts of people talk. It occurred to me as I listened to all types of conversations that we need to be careful talking about or sharing news that may not be accurate. I would say this is ever present in today’s media for sure. You see...
