Embracing Change as God's Creative Power
Man, times sure have changed. I think about it almost daily. Maybe it’s a sign over my getting older reflecting back on how things “use to be”, or maybe it’s just a natural response to the changing seasons of a life. You see, I think that like the changing seasons of our planet, life is like that too. We have a spring, summer, winter and fall. All of us overreach sometimes. All of us struggle to control the uncontrollable. We try to control other people, control the weather, control growth, control time, and stop the aging process...it won’t work, I’m trying! When those efforts fail (as they always do), we get frustrated. We feel small, weak, and insignificant. But, you know, feeling small is not such a bad thing. Consider what I was rambling on about with changing of seasons. Without your lifting a finger, the physical climate all around you is in a steady pattern of regular change. If you don’t like the weather today, just wait a little. It will be different soon. Think about our weather here in Ga, nothing stays the same. I think we broke some warmth records this week in February! This constant cycle of change is set in motion by our big God. You do realizes He is bigger than we can ever imagine, right? He must like a change of scenery, and he thinks you will too. God told Noah, “As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.”So, let’s try and think of change like the change of seasons and a reflection of Gods immense power, his creative genius, and his faithful promises. What a comfort it is to enjoy being very small and watching the world whirl around us.Be Nice, Grace Wins
