Finding Peace When Life Lets You Down
Ever feel like you could just scream or punch something? Yeah, me too! Man, sometimes life and people will disappoint you, let you down and just have you shaking your head...happened to me yesterday. Oh, and don’t think I took it too well either. After ranting for a while (like it would make a difference) I went to bed and dug into the word to find some relief. Guess what? I found some. You see, no matter how much we want to put our hope and aspirations on people and things of this world, inevitably we will be let down. It’s not because intentions weren’t good, it’s because we live in a sin filled world and we always seem to try and control the outcome of things and people that don’t meet our expectations. We are putting our serenity and peace in the wrong place. “Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation”Psalms 42:5 But, here we are, still standing. We are a resilient bunch. We get knocked down and we get right back up. It’s what we do. But we do have limits to how much we can take. So where do we go when we’ve reached the bottom of the hole and we finally lose it over something? (Like I did yesterday). Well, we go to our Father who is always there, loves us unconditionally and has a listening ear. We are not going to experience heaven until we get to heaven, but the God who lives there gives us little tastes and insights that our best life is still to come. He thinks we’re beautiful and wonderful and can’t wait to enjoy us in his Paradise. In the meantime, give him all your disappointments and dreams and then watch for his answer. I feel better anyway...have a great weekend. Be Nice, Grace Wins!

Death and Life Are in the Power of the Tongue
Let’s roll into a cold week with a thought about the words that come out of our mouths. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.”Proverbs 18:21 ESVYou see, words can be the fruit of our thought and our hearts and can be used to encourage and lift...
