God Uses Your Past: From Weakness to Strength
So, today I was asked by one our members on this devotional if I was “hung up on the past”? My response was that I was quite the opposite. You see my past, good, bad or indifferent, has helped shape the person God has made me today. It’s is MY testimony, it’s MY story. I firmly believe that God uses all of our past experiences for a purpose. Sometimes we don’t understand the “why” at the time it’s happening, but I am here to tell you there is a reason. It will be revealed in time. But I can’t help but think back to one of my favorite verses in the Bible, 2 Corinthians 12-9“But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”You see, God is the strongest when we are weak. Like a lost lamb to the herd, Jesus saved me from myself and brought me back into the herd. I was weak and He was strong. So tell YOUR story. Boast in your weakness and share the grace that God has bestowed upon you. Your witness could be the testimony that another lost lamb needs to find the herd. Much love,FMJ
