Hope in a World of Doubt and Skepticism
As I leave you for the weekend, I wanted to touch on something I’ve been kicking around all week, doubt. While we talk about hope and good fruit all the time it seems as though it “pays better” to promote the opposite. You see, we sure live in a world of skepticism and doubt. I mean just turn on the news, either side, FOX or CNN, they’re all out there. As I like to say, “What this world needs is some Jesus!” People just don’t believe in much of anything anymore. They mock it all. All social institutions are viewed as inherently flawed and passé--government is assumed to be abusive; businesses all just organized rip-offs; the church corrupt and lying; and monogamous, lifelong marriage just slavery. Our world needs Christians and the Christian message more than ever. We can be bringers and explainers of hope to a world that is desperate for something noble and big and good to believe in again. We can spread a message that our God is still powerful and wise and loving and that he is already living in the future to make it better for his believers. Who could be more of an idealist than a biblical Christian? For believers the future is always better than the past. Christ makes optimists of us all, and He is already writing the ending chapters of the book of our lives and they contain a happy ending. Who doesn’t need to hear that!? “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!”Psalms 27:14 Be Nice, Grace wins

Death and Life Are in the Power of the Tongue
