Salvation by Grace, Not Works
Hope everyone is doing well after what has felt like an eating Iditarod. It appears that we will be starting “Operation Chisel” this week to prepare for the next wave of the Gluttony Games…Ok, so last week we talked about being a good witness for Christ, bearing good fruit and trying to be more like Jesus. All of which we should be doing. However, I think it’s worthy of discussion as to just how these “good works” are viewed. While we may be confident in our work, confidence in our salvation doesn’t come from our “good works” but rather from God’s grace. Salvation is a free gift that we cannot earn, it’s not based on how good we are but rather how good God is. That alone gives me a sigh of relief, as should you. Don’t allow people in your life to add “works” onto your salvation. As Christians, we work for the Lord out of gratitude and love for God, not to earn His love or our salvation. Our good works are the result of our faith in Christ, not a requirement for salvation. “For we are the circumcision, who worship by the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh—”Philippians 3:3Have a great week!Be nice. Grace wins.
