Showing Compassion to Those Who Oppose You
So I’ve been thinking about what is really means to have compassion. I pray nightly that God lays compassion on my heart towards others...specifically those who oppose me. It’s hard these days with so many labels, differences of opinion, lifestyles, etc. to always connect with people. Take the political environment these days! Good grief! Anyhow, we are charged to love one another and show acceptance. It’s hard, even to those who persecute us, but we must try. Not being swayed by public opinion but loving our enemies and showing acceptance toward those who disagree with us is what I consider compassion. In other words being an empath to those we meet. We are pushed in so many directions and our faith in God is being challenged daily. “Let brotherly love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.”Hebrews 13:1-2“Do not be led away by diverse and strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, which have not benefited those devoted to them.”Hebrews 13:9 So stay strong in the word this week, smile and show grace and compassion to those who don’t agree with you. Pray for those who persecute you and most of all show love and bear good fruit. This is certainly an challenging ask, but we can do this!Have a great Monday. Be Nice, Grace wins.
