Where to Place Your Hope
So the other day I was pretty frustrated and disappointed something going on in my life. Mostly disappointed by some people I put my Hope into. Then I got to thinking why do I set my expectations so high in everything? I think it’s something I get from my dad, he was incredibly optimistic and had faith in everyone it seems. Well, I’m not quite there but I do it enough to get let down. Maybe you do to?But what is it about expectations that do this to us? I mean we set them so high whether it be work, people, sports or marriage. I have fought for a long time, and every time I put my hope and expectation in man I have been disappointed. Put your expectation and hope in the Lord and you will not be disappointed. When we put our expectation and hope in our family, our company, or our sporting abilities, we get disappointed and put tremendous pressure on our loved ones. Expecting our spouse or our children to excel where we didn’t is putting an unnecessary burden on them. Your spouse and children are not your provider, God is. Look, God may use other people or company to help provide for us, but in the end it’s God who cares for us and will never let us down. Let’s prevent frustration and disappointment by placing our hope and our trust in God alone.“For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God.”Psalms 62:5-7 Hope you are all hanging in there.Be Nice, Grace Wins
