You Don't Deserve It, But God Gives It Anyway
I don’t know about you, but I get the “I don’t deserve this...” feeling a lot when I think about what God has done for me and my life. His salvation alone can be bewildering at times. It’s the opinion we have about ourselves and our past or present. You see, we have one set of convictions about ourselves, and God has another. We look at our past filled with failure and shame, and he looks at who we are with love and compassion. It’s an unconditional love. Perfect love. I mean, like none of us deserve a second chance, none of us deserve to be forgiven, and we certainly don’t deserve to be loved unconditionally. But we are! You are! You don’t deserve it, but God gives it to you anyway. So I try not to let my past mistakes and failures define me. That is the voice of shame. You aren’t what you’ve done or not done. You are not what’s been done to you. You are who God says you are. His child.“the Lord appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.”Jeremiah 31:3 Have a great weekend!Be Nice. Grace wins.
